Swami Nirgunananda

Swami Nirgunananda is one of the first six monastic disciples of Sri Sri Bhagavan. Swamiji was born in the year 1973, in Lumding, Assam India. When he was a college student in the year 1994, swamiji went to visit his friend Swami Baskarananda’s house, and coincidentally encountered Bhagavan there. Bhagavan was giving a Vedanta talk at the time and it deeply captivated the young man. For the first time, swamiji was hearing spirituality explained in a very logical and scientific way. He was enchanted, and began to visit Bhagavan frequently.

After 4 years of associating with his guru, swamiji embraced monkhood (sanyasa) in the year 1998. Since then, and a number of spiritual realizations after, swamiji has been teaching Vedanta in India and overseas (such as his touring through Southeast Asia in the year 2017). Today (in 2018) swamiji serves as the Treasurer of International Vedanta Society.
